Party like it's 1925

Dress - Monsoon (via ebay)
Bag - Gift
Shoes - Dorothy Perkins

To celebrate the end of the first year, the Law Society put on a Gatsby themed ball which I was pleasantly impressed with. Usually at such events we're promised free alcohol to no avail, but this time there was wine!!(which was paid for in advance but we shall ignore this small detail.)
Overall it was a fabulous evening where I was given much advice by drunken third years and lecturers alike, as well as getting to dress up, which is always a bonus.

Hope everyone else's uni/school/college/sixth form terms end equally happily!

Gatsby? What Gatsby?

dress - M&S
headdress & gloves - ebay
shoes - Primark

A) I apologise profusely for jumping on the Gatsby bandwagon.
B) I apologise in equal proportion for not posting in seemingly years! Revision has loomed, and continues to do so, but I have a little more time before my next exam.

I saw Gatsby last night with my mother. Maybe having read the book and adoring the soundtrack allowed me to enjoy it to a greater degree than she did (falling asleep in the first half hour). With Mr Luhrmann directing you are expecting slight extravagance and so whilst providing decadent party scenes, I enjoyed it's ability to remain at a reasonable closeness with the book. Oh and the clothes were very pretty.

In other news, I have finally decided on my firm and insurance university places (3/4 of an hour before the deadline, I kid you not.) If you are in a similar position do inform me of where you're going!

Midnight in Paris

dress - Marks and Spencer
pearls - vintage
shoes - Faith

Well, today was finally showtime so, I donned my finest 'detective' gear and crazily enough, managed to just about remember my lines.
Anyway, when I returned home, I was greeted with this wig I'd purchased from eBay for a charity day at school. Me and a couple of other lovely people have decided to go as silent movie stars hence the wig. We are yet to buy dresses, gloves, head dresses and black lipstick, but if you know any places that sell these items (cheaply) do inform me.
Whilst searching for 1920s inspiration, I was greeted with some wonderful images of 'Midnight in Paris' a film which I highly recommend by the way and thought I should share some.
