These outfits do not reflect what I've worn this weekend, but are pretty much the colour scheme I opt for during the week. Soft, desaturated and familiar, clothes in these tones are so easy to reach for when I'm half asleep and am having a wardrobe calamity.

In between enjoying the rare British sun this weekend, I rewatched one of my all time favourite films - The Devil Wears Prada. As well as the treasure trove of quotable lines,
(Florals, for Spring? Groundbreaking.), the film is, unsurprisingly, full of fashion inspiration.
As much as the cliche "transformation" scene is overdone, Andy's work wardrobe alone makes the second half of the film worth watching. From delicate shirts and Chanel chains to knee high boots and elegant jumpers; it makes me want to slip on some heels and a fitted jacket every Monday morning.

We'll see how that pans out.

Would you wear any of these looks?

Rosegal (literally)

So apparently it's February. How on earth we have got to the second month of 2017 is beyond me, especially with all that's going on in the world - I would comment further, but I feel politics may be outside the remit of this happy-go-lucky blog.

Anyway, frostbitten days and existential matters mean I am in dire need of a little brightness. Something that adds a touch of colour to wardrobe. I've gone on relentlessly about how I've tried to step out of my bat cave of black clothing, and I'd like to think injecting a little orange or pink to an outfit provides that little lift which my morning mood so desperately needs. (That and the La la land soundtrack. Honestly.)

These little gems are both from Rosegal and I am most certainly smitten. Given the month, I feel that my new found love is rather apt.

Which is your favourite item (and do you have any valentine's plans)?

Rosegal Haul

Over the next few posts I have some items that lovely companies have been kind enough to gift me; all opinions will always be honest and my own.

The first of my hauls is from Rosegal, and I have to admit I was incredibly impressed with 100% of my picks.

01.
I have worn this shirt to death (already) only having received it a few days ago. It's the ideal material that does not crease (i.e. a dream) and fits so well within my monochrome wardrobe. I wore this in London at the weekend and actually got stopped by a photographer, so naturally turned on full 'blogger-awkward-pose-self-timer' mode and tried to look cool.  Full credit to the shirt.

02.
The colour of this off the shoulder top really appealed to me. I've seen so many of the pale blue bardot numbers strewn across Zara sales rails, but this sage shade seemed really fresh and different. Similarly, the longer length means I can wear it with non-high-waisted jeans when the weather get a little chiller. In other words, at any point during our English "summer".

03.
This crop is simple and monochrome and therefore an instant hit. I have to say I ordered in the largest size so I could wear it like a usual t shirt, which was an excellent decision. The material is actually surprisingly good also and super soft, an ideal companion to throw on at the beach or at a festival.

04.
I literally picked this so I could wear it in France and just point to the slogan at appropriate moments. Kinda wish it said 'oui' on the back too, but aside from that, it's the perfect fit for any wardrobe.

What's your favourite piece?

Cupid Deluxe

shirt - Armani c/o Depop
t shirt - Streetshirts
shorts - Rosegal
boots - New Look c/o Depop
hat - Missguided
necklaces - ebay
bag - vintage

Sadly 2015 was a year without standing in a muddy field, in drizzling weather, overpriced drink in hand and singing tunelessly along with a song I actually know the words to. I vowed not to make this mistake again.

Despite not managing to get Glasto tickets, upon discovering my literal all time fave act Blood Orange was performing in the UK, I knew this would be the ideal alternative. You know the type of music you listen to and it's like 'this is it, I've found it'. Yep, that. The best bit is that the only other person who had heard of them was the very person I'd befriended on the first day of uni. So naturally, I'm dragging him along too.

This is the (potential and weather permitting) ensemble I intend on wearing. White might not be the ideal choice, but as it's only a day event, I'm hoping too much Vanish won't be required.

Are you a festival fan?
