Dirty Velvet

Quirky, thought provoking and refreshingly different are most certainly boxes I want to be ticked when I'm investigating new brands. Dirty Velvet seems to do all this and much more.

When I spotted their 100% unique designs I knew I had to have a piece of the action and am lucky enough to have chosen a couple of items for my own wardrobe.

The pieces are a statement all by themselves so I kept the rest of the outfits minimal, opting for muted colours (shocking for me, I know). 

The UFO t shirt reminded me of old school Hollywood movie posters and is such an ideal staple t shirt with a multitude of outfit possibilities.

My favourite has marginally got to be the sweatshirt however, the simple graphic design is literally the stuff of dreams and fits so effortlessly into my wardrobe. I feel much more of their A/W items will be on my Christmas list..

Washed up summer

The final rays of summer may be shining, but as I try to catch every last glimpse of sunshine before the pavements are carpeted with leaves, I can't help lusting over these pick and mix coloured pieces. She In is yet to disappoint and is the primary source for my current wardrobe lusts..

T-spiration

As is evident, I love a good t shirt.

Super easy to throw on, dress up with a pair of heels or go casual with pyjama bottoms and a cup of tea. I especially have a soft spot for those with weird and wonderful designs and for that She In are yet to let me down. Scrolling through, I'm often caught thinking 'I don't have a clue what that slogan means but I love it and therefore must have it.'

Dressing in the morning becomes an awful lot more challenging when the view outside your window at 9 am in blissful blue sky and an hour later that has been replaced with heavy grey cloud. Walking back from yesterday's 4oclock lecture I ended up sporting a pair of blue black jeans due to a favourable combination of strong winds and heavy rain..

Well, this week has been ridiculously gorgeous weather wise, I went sleeveless on more than one occasion(!)   My lovely boyfriend also spent the week here which has basically meant chilled evenings outside sipping gin and tonic, pretending we're somewhere far more exotic. We also ventured out shopping where I dragged him around the Zara sale and picked up this basic safari-ish shirt which I deemed ideal for holiday (even though I have about twelve just like it:')

Ebay has once again become my favourite place and I can easily spend ample amounts of time scrolling through things I definitely don't need but end up in bidding wars over anyway.. I have recently purchased some nice things from there so they will be featuring in a post shortly.

Just a quick post to say I can't get enough of simple outfits with little embellishments, getting a nice balance between not-trying-too-hard, yet still looking like I've put some thought into what I'm wearing. 

I really wanted to share this post from Ivania of love-aesthetics, as I think it encapsulates my feelings for minimal tones so perfectly.

I hope everyone is enjoying their "summer", and as usual, I shall finish with some summery inspiration to make up for the lack of sun in the UK at least:')
