Fields of gold

Hi, hello. Happy Saturday. Just checking in to see how you are.

I don’t know about you, but at the moment I sort of feel like I’m drifting between one thing and the next. Things still feel up in the air. Time seems to be rushing by and I’m struggling to grasp it. How on earth it will soon be October I do not know. I feel like New Year’s was last week.

Thankfully over the past couple of days I’ve been able to escape and spend some time in one of my favourite places. You know that overwhelming wave of familiarity and comfort you feel when you make a return trip somewhere you know and love? That, a lot. It served as a much needed reminder that things are still there, just as we left them.

Anyway, here are some thoughtful photos from simpler times with the lovely Lewis Baker. I hope you’re doing OK and I promise I won’t leave it so long next time. Love, Georgia.

Big for your boots

jumper - Zaful
jeans - Zara
boots - ebay
bag - vintage

Super impressed by how lovely the British weather has been this weekend, but less impressed about the small-minded actions which took place in London earlier this week. At a time where the world seems to be in turmoil, your place within it can seem so small.

And yet, that makes me more determined to make a difference; to make sure my voice is heard.

I'm not one for preaching, but I think it's important to not to be afraid of sharing your opinion. It's easy to fall into the trap of talking without acting and it's something I'm trying to move away from.
Saying what I think is important and actually doing something important are very different, and its the latter which I hope to achieve.

Rather than adhering to the divisive rhetoric behind these events (which quickly litters my facebook feed), it's important to take a step back. Acknowledge the strength that unites us and gain a better understanding of  the importance our contribution - however small - brings to the world.

(For someone who doesn't think they're preachy, this sure sounds like a preachy post. Sorry.)

So good at being in trouble

shirt - Zara
jeans - Zaful
coat - H&M
shoes - Lightinthebox
bag - vintage

I was unsure how I felt about these Zaful jeans when I tore open the packaging, but first impressions could not have been more wrong. Ripped with raw hems in a perfect light wash, these high waisted beauties were definitely love at first wear.

What's your favourite style of jeans?

Time will tell

I am very much enjoying the 'one tone outfit' outfits. I am feeling very spring-like and LFW ready (especially with the coat-draping), almost like I have thoroughly thought about this outfit but I most certainly have not.
As much as I enjoy the layering of excessive scarves and knitwear, the frosty mornings and crisp evenings the windswept rain and gail force makeovers are making me wish for seasons to finally turn. What's your favourite time of year?

Please, do tell.

sweatshirt - She In
jeans and coat - H&M

hat - Missguided

This is one of those 'I really didn't try, but it kinda looks like I did' outfits. I am so very impressed by this She In sweatshirt I'd included in my last wishlist, so much so that I just had to buy it. The minimal colour scheme, clean print and sarcastic slogan? How could I resist?
It was also sheer luck that it was the exact shade as my beloved H&M coat. Let's hope that luck stays with me over exam time..

What would be your ideal sweatshirt slogan?

Plain White Tees

top - Dressin
necklace - Aliexpress
jeans & heels - Primark
sunglasses - Dressin

Have been lucky enough to have been contacted by various lovely companies recently to review some items and thought I'd share my thoughts on what I received..

First up, Dressin and I opted for a basic white tee and some fierce cat eye sunglasses. I was actually lacking this white staple and thought it would be ideal for this season (whatever that may be at the moment) and have not been disappointed. The neckline is ideal and it's, remarkably, not at all see through so can wear fancy undergarments to my heart's content.

As for the sunglasses, they are most certainly rivalling my favoured Primark pair. I am sadly not one for expensive specs as I am 100% likely to sit, lose or drop them into the ocean from a fast moving boat - as much I would love a Prada pair. These are most certainly an ideal alternative if you fancy the bargain option whilst maintaining a designer vibe. My favourite combination.

T-spiration

As is evident, I love a good t shirt.
Super easy to throw on, dress up with a pair of heels or go casual with pyjama bottoms and a cup of tea. I especially have a soft spot for those with weird and wonderful designs and for that She In are yet to let me down. Scrolling through, I'm often caught thinking 'I don't have a clue what that slogan means but I love it and therefore must have it.'
Here is a wishlist of my current faves to hopefully provide a little t-spiration..

Which is your favourite?

back to the future

top & trousers - Primark
shoes - Aliexpress
necklaces - ebay & ajewelsanctuary
bag - Zara

This is one of my favourite 'I have nothing to go out in so let's throw something together at random' outfits.
These grid print beauties are basically the first pair of actual trousers (aside from the rather unflattering school pair) I've owned and I have worn them to death. The quality has really surprised me as well as the fact they go with just about everything. Wanting to go back for a few more prints to extend my patterned legwear collection.

Now of course, yes, I must mention these shoes. I'd seen them on various instagram pages and was obviously desperate to get my hands on some. Why? Because like a moth to a sole-based-colour-changing-light, I found myself needing them for no rational reason. Yes, they do also change colour. (I also recently styled them in a lookbook, so to check that out, click here.)

Would you ever wear light up shoes?

Been saving all my summers for you

top - New Look/ ebay
jeans - Blue Spice
coat - H&M / depop
bag - Primark
shoes - The Rainbow Club

What's this? An outfit where black has only managed to reach my feet? I know, right. A very spring like outfit to be summoned from my batcave like wardrobe, but I'm really enjoying the lighter tones at the moment.
I actually started hunting for a grid print top having been inspired by this website via instagram - their stuff is just the right balance of intriguing prints and clean cut minimalism that appeals so much to me. I think most of their stock will be featuring on my Christmas list.

William, May You Dress Me in Gold?

Simple, bold, delicate or eye-catching, I love every way of decorating my hands. I find it's often that single druzy ring or rose gold bracelet that can completely polish an outfit, adding a hint of elegance and effort whilst only taking a few seconds to apply.

Enter the glistensly gorgeous world of William May (pre warning that serious accessory lust may occur).

Home to so many pretty pieces to adorn your neck, wrists and fingers with, I couldn't resist flicking through and picking out some of my favourite items as well as incorporating them into ~dream~ outfits.

(reminds me of treasure from Indiana Jones)

champagne

tequila sunrise

vanilla latte

Let me know if you're developing my magpie-like-tendencies..
Which piece would you choose?

P.S. As the 14th of February is growing ever closer, maybe leave this page
open to, ahem, inspire your significant other?

Take a Look at Lookbook

Dressing in the morning becomes an awful lot more challenging when the view outside your window at 9 am in blissful blue sky and an hour later that has been replaced with heavy grey cloud. Walking back from yesterday's 4oclock lecture I ended up sporting a pair of blue black jeans due to a favourable combination of strong winds and heavy rain..

Anyway, just a simple post on some of my favourite Lookbook looks of recent, hopefully to get fashionable juices flowing and making early morning wardrobe decisions easier.
