Jackets banished to the back of the wardrobe, sandals everyday and a lingering fear of spilling anything down a crisp white shirt; I've started to grow worryingly accustomed to the warmer climbs that the UK is currently experiencing.
It's strange to think that just a couple of months ago the garden resembled Narnia, whilst looking outside this morning it's more reminiscent of the Sahara. A drop or two of rain would certainly not hurt.

Whilst the relentless sunshine may have left Britain with little to talk about, for me it means a continual drive to accumulate more things. And yes, I pretty much relayed that message in the previous two posts but what can I say - I give in to patterned crop topped temptation far too easily.

On another summery note, I was lucky enough to venture across the ocean to Madrid last week to visit Mad Cool festival, where much cheap wine (red?) was drunk and amazing bands listened to. Whilst we didn't really get to explore too much of the city, what we did see was beautiful, with hidden treasures around what seemed like every corner - definitely one to revisit.

In the wake of England's bitter defeat - which I had actually quite enjoyed following?? - it was nice to have a weekend of Tame Impala, MGMT and Arctic Monkeys to look forward to. Even if we only had about 2 hours of sleep.

Now whilst I catch up on Love Isand, what are your summer plans?

Somewhere, at some point between that mini heatwave last month and a good few weeks of rain, summer actually seems to have arrived.

For me, this usually means two things: 

a) Finally I can escape the monotony of my daily life and think about jetting off somewhere exciting

b) I literally want to buy all the clothes. 

It probably won't surprise you that the above points are not mutually exclusive; one tends to lead to the other.

For some reason, summer seems to inspire (or convince) me that I need a whole new wardrobe.

Perhaps it's because the transition between "Spring" and Summer is so small here, or maybe because I feel less guilty buying crop tops than oversized jumpers. Either way, the warmest season seems to bring with it so many possibilities where my wardrobe is concerned. Which can't be a bad thing.

A very quick post on some things I've been coveting recently, which is certainly not easy when the weather seems to change every five minutes.

That said, I have been desperately trying to hold onto the summer dream; which in my mind means paler tones and fresher fabrics - almost always.

These looks are actually from last summer, back when I was trialling different outfits for festivals and holidays. Whilst part of me adores mixing prints and clashing colours - particularly me circa 2015 - there's something so effortless about about a monochrome look. As well as being streamlined and simple, they also provide the perfect canvas to dress up and down depending on the occasion. I would not, however, advise wearing an all-white ensemble to a festival. Especially if you don't want to be attacked by the muddied boots of the girl atop someone's shoulders whilst watching Frank Ocean.
