Suit up

blazer - Vintage
bodysuit - Boohoo
jeans - H&M
shoes - Primark
earrings - eBay
necklace - Cinco

suit - Topshop c/o Depop
bralet - Boohoo
shoes - Lightinthebox

Blazers are not a new thing for me.

Ever since I can remember, the structured shoulders, the sharp silhouette and not to forget the real life functioning pockets (!!!) have always appealed to me. Even when it was worn on the playground and emblazoned with a bright red logo.

Regardless of the occasion, the simple addition of a blazer draped over anything from a graphic t shirt to a rollneck can make it look like you've made an effort - even when you really haven't.

Take a peek below to see some of my favourite blazer looks:

Out of bodysuit experience

bodysuit - Shein
jeans - H&M
boots - Next
bag - Zara

bodysuit - Shein
jeans - H&M
boots - Primark

I was late to get into the bodysuit game.

Whilst I love a good leather trouser or tailored leg, the top half would always be a silk shirt or crop - I never saw what was allegedly so great about the humble bodysuit.

However, obsessively browsing depop one day, I took the plunge. A plunge Boohoo number had caught my eye and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

And that was it - sold.

Striking the perfect balance between 'making a real effort' and 'keeping it cas', the bodysuit is the updated equivalent of the classic, jeans and a nice top. Shoutout to Missguided for spot on reactive marketing.

Anyway, they have become a night-out go-to, and these two from Shein are sure to become firm staples in the overflowing catalogue that is my wardrobe.

(Maybe I need to ease up on the metaphors.)

What item of clothing have you changed your mind on?

Rose tinted

Just a few of my favourite images taken during a lovely shoot from the summer - that seems like an eternity ago. St George's Hall and the Walker Art Gallery are such amazing settings, and when they become part of the daily scenery, you forget how amazing they are. As much as I enjoy living back home, there's just something about a city that I miss. The consistent flow of people, every day being unexpectedly different and being able to hear tipsy Liverpudlians serenading me beneath my flat window. Like a modern day Romeo and Juliet, except the only poison involved was Jagermeister.

Where's your favourite place?

P.s. I thought I should probably mention that St George's Hall also has a starring role in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. A brilliantly magical film which I was lucky enough to have been a part of last year. 4 days spent in 1920's cocktail dresses? Don't mind if I do.

Where are you now that I need you?

shirt - Shein
sunglasses - Dressin
necklace - H&M
jeans and shoes - Primark
hat - Missguided
bag - vintage

Last week was a busy one, but interrupted by the bliss of the weekend which I spent in my second home, aka Liverpool for excessive glow stick purchasing, dancing and cocktail consumption. Three of my favourite hobbies.
This week however is set to be even busier with a trip to France at some point.. which I have of course not yet packed for -  just keep informing my mum I work best under pressure otherwise known as the last minute.
Speaking of holidays, I feel like this shirt may just be the perfect companion. I cannot get enough of this Egyptian inspired print with the muted gold and cream tones - as well as the fact the material doesn't crease i.e. suitcase friendly.
Hope everyone is enjoying their summers <3

You know our love would be tragic

jumper - George
jeans - H&M
coat - GAP
boots - ebay
bag - vintage
rings - ebay

Thoroughly enjoying these 24 hour bursts of sunshine we are currently experiencing in England. It allows me to opt for a jumper and duster coat as opposed to my usual multi-layer attire.
I actually picked up this coat a couple of years ago at a charity shop for a detective role in a play and rediscovered it the other day. An attachment is growing, I should definitely get back in to the thrift shopping scene (cue that song being stuck in your head for eternity) as real gems can be found.

What are your thoughts on charity shopped items?

I see fire

top & jeans - H&M
bag - Primark
shoes - The Rainbow Club
hat - Missguided

I've been looking for an item with this print for a while, though little did I expect to see it whilst scrolling through H&M's sale for £5! Even if it turned out I hated it, £5 seemed a reasonable gamble. I actually do rather like it thankfully, even if not season suitable just yet. (Though the water reflection print seems very apt where the weather is concerned.)

An article I recently wrote has been very kindly featured in the amazing new online magazine TNF - I feel honoured to have my words next to those of some amazingly talented women - so I encourage you to take a peek (I'm on p. 53 if interested ;)

P.S. If you haven't already check out the Kygo version of Ed Sheeran's 'I See Fire' <3

Details

01. Breaking away from my usual blood red lips, I have been experimenting with more neutral shades. I was originally inspired to try out the 'Kylie Jenner' lip phenomenon by this post which then spiralled into purchasing lip products that are much more in my price range and are still able to create something similar: (Hanorah Lipstick, Essence Lip liner, Natural Collection Lip Liner).

02. Having commitment phobia, I thought these ear cuffs would be ideal when desperately trying to emulate some kind of 'cool'ness. Even if I'm not looking it, I'm definitely feeling it which is all that counts, right?

03. I should probably invest in some good quality rings that don't change colour when I wash my hands, but until that point I shall fill my h&m bag with the cheap and cheerful kind. I can't deny my love for jewelled hands.
